Not Bad, but the Environment is Frustrating
Pros
Team is tight knit and easy to communicate with. Pay isn't horrible, but could be better. Relative amount of independence to address tasking, but micromanaging also occurs. Company is focused on a high quality product and delivering good service and customer support rather than cutting corners.
Cons
Severe lack of redundancy in positions. Expect one and only one person to be responsible for several important functions, regardless of pay grade, and little oversight on redirecting their tasking if they are unavailable. Oversight slingshots between complete independence and severe micromanaging. Company CEO is frequently a bottle neck in several decision making processes that can make getting projects done on a timely schedule frustrating. Management only knows how a negative feedback loop works, does not seem to understand positive reinforcement or positive feedback loops in developing and managing staff. During the pandemic, allowed high salary staff to work remote, while other office workers were denied work from home station due to any number of excuses from cost to availability of stations which did not prove entirely truthful. E.g. office staff who had been present for 5 plus years at the company were denied a work from home station, while senior support brought in only a year or two prior were immediately approved/allowed.
