-Streamland Media and the banks that own Formosa = corporate and bottom line interests will always outweigh employee satisfaction and retention, i.e. there's not much in the way of COLA, and layoffs will happen whenever the banks do the yearly budget
-Management ranges from Napoleon-complex-syndrome to outright greasy/skeetchy word salad shooters
-The HR wing is a vast, dense and over-staffed bureaucracy, which are suspiciously immune to layoffs; good luck getting anything out of them
While there is all manner of high profile work coming through Formosa, the pay and benefits fall short of most standard game internal development studios. The 401k is a joke, and there is NO company contribution/match. Medical/dental benefits are way below average. For a company of this stature and having touched so many huge titles, you'd think they would do a better job with their current employees. I think it's their inherent Hollywood business model/culture, which is the usual 'take it or leave it' attitude. They'd be happy to replace you for someone hungry enough to work with a gun in their back for a bowl of rice a day. They'd get one star but I work with some awesome audio folks which is their only saving grace.
