Toxic Management and a Culture of Favouritism
Pros
The pay is reasonable and the site itself is trying to become modern. A few of the regular staff are friendly and supportive — but they’re the only good part of the job.
Cons
Fresh Direct Bicester has one of the most toxic workplace cultures I’ve ever experienced. Favouritism runs deep — if you’re part of the management’s inner circle or you constantly agree with them, you’ll have no problems. But if you speak up, challenge poor decisions, or try to stand up for what’s right, they will make your working life unbearable. Management doesn’t lead — they intimidate. Bullying is brushed off as “management style.” Those who question anything are isolated, given impossible workloads, or micromanaged until they quit. It’s a clear pattern: they push out anyone who doesn’t conform. There’s no genuine support for staff, and HR seems to protect management rather than the people doing the actual work. Morale is at rock bottom, and turnover is sky-high for a reason.
