Catty culture!

Pros

Maybe free products? Can't really think of anything else...

Cons

The culture at Fur is super unfriendly and cliquey. I noticed this on day one. Leadership is all over the place in terms of their objectives and will scrap plans at the last second to then go in a completely different direction without warning. There's a reason turnover is high - not somewhere I would recommend at all.

Comparison is the thief of joy

Pros

- Decent work/life balance - Unlimited PTO (take from that what you will] - Fantastic group of coworkers

Cons

Extremely toxic work environment due to favoritism from who you know and how much money you have. It doesn't matter if you are the next Steve Jobs: if CEO doesn't like you, she doesn't care about your ideas. Especially if their biggest competitor isn't doing it! They will excessively compare everything to them. They will then ask why we aren't growing or put unrealistic expectations on the team with zero budget to back it up. Do not expect accolades here. What you can expect: excessive lay-offs (then, they will act cold as ice to you as if YOU did something wronged them by getting, essentially, fired) then will push someone else out to cover multiple roles with no training, no experience and no support along with no pay raise or title change... and then "lay them off" too as if they didn't throw you into the ocean to drown on your own: They have done this to employees on maternity leave, returning to work with their role replaced by a man. And don't even think about getting a raise or title change unless you are one of the favorites based on who you know, if you come from money, and/or if you're a man. They will severely prioritize the male opinion... even if they lack experience in comparison to women on the team with years of experience. They will give men bonuses for doing work that the incredibly talented women are actually doing. They will say they value diversity and inclusion by not requiring degrees in their hiring process but all white decision makers. They have about 2 POC on the entire team. In order for this company to be successful, they need to work on organization, communication amongst each other (looking at you, co-founders] and listening/trusting the team they hired.

It has its perks

Pros

Mostly remote work, Mon-Fri schedule, gained lots of experience from other departments, great time off, good benefits.

Cons

Way too many responsibilities for my role. A shift in direction every couple of months. unrealistic and unachievable goals with very little support from the company as a whole. MICROMANAGING! Isolation due to favoritism.
