Oh where to even start. Here are a few instances that best illustrate the "culture":
1) SO MUCH office politics. People will tattle on you, yes, as if you are single-digit age, for doing things like checking your personal email briefly during a break. Manager will even advise you to "pretend to be busy" so people won't have a bad impression and tell senior management. Seriously, GROW UP.
2) I've seen some of the most toxic colleagues at this place. One woman went a 5-min rant about how much she hates mainland Chinese people and how they are not "civilized" (even though she is of Chinese descent from Hong Kong parents, the optics write itself). She went on this rant because she went on business trips in China and people dared to confuse her with a Chinese national and spoke Mandarin with her. She ranted in front of a Chinese colleague as well. Not sure why people like this are hired and retained. It is so disgustingly racist, bigoted, deragotory. Seriously, you should be ashamed.
3) Senior management does not give a flying darn about employees. They want you to fit into a model employee model or give off the impression of doing so, but will bully and silence you into leaving as soon as they deem you replaceable. Utterly despicable and shady behavior.
