Terrible company to work for

Pros

Some nice staff. Unhappy, but fundamentally good.

Cons

Undermining and belittlement are the management styles for the poor, miserable, undervalued team who do all the work. Facilities are horrible. Bullying is normal. Staff are encouraged to spy on each other. Fear leads to a blame culture from the top down. Arbitrary rules such as the old-fashioned dress code. No benefits. Employees treated like children and middle management are hamstrung by big egos at the the top. Customers are not valued either. Shoddy product. Amazed that the company has lasted this long. Very high turnover of staff. Promised bonus not forthcoming. No pay rises. Genee World's sister company Interactive Education are run by the same team. Even though they pretend that they are different companies. This makes for a very tricky situation when dealing with the company's resellers. All the best leads go to IE.

Pros

It's close to home. I worked with some really good people over the years. Unfortunately the ones that really know their stuff leave or want to.

Cons

I would not normally get involved in online criticism, but since reading the last couple of posts where ex-employees are blamed for the incompetence rife amongst the 'family' is sickening. Posts that are so blatantly written by them. No where to hide indeed. With few exceptions all ex-employees have gone on to much better things I'm pleased to say. There are so many things wrong with the way people are treated here. Lack of respect does go both ways, bullying comes from the top. Micro management. Admonishments for being sick. Constructive dismissal. Meltdowns...

Not one I'd choose to work for

Pros

Very few, a number of loyal staff. Good engineers.

Cons

Too much pressure without any support mechanism being in place. Staff have been reduced to tears. On one occasion, I had to share an Hotel room with a fellow member of staff whilst at an exhibition in London. When we complained, we were told "tough" The training and support is very poor and it is all about results and promises of bonuses that are never paid and continually denied. Poor Customer retention. All calls both in and out are recorded to and listened to by. How sad, but shows the lack of trust between Management and staff. No career progression opportunities. Poor quality products and poor stock management. Sadly, one to avoid.
