Pros
If you like smoke and mirrors, this is the place for you. If you have absolutely no other options for employment and need to put food on the table, I'd continue to interview elsewhere...
Cons
Oh where to start. It is a company run by inept people at the top. Messed up beyond belief with people who have been in their roles for 20+ years and are totally ineffective and lazy. Have a recommendation on how to fix something and make lives easier for a bunch of other people? Not going to happen if it means somebody at the top has to do something slightly different than they have been doing for the past umpteen years. Group in the UK is where all good ideas go to die. Work life balance means nothing here; management is aware of it but seems to cut corners at every step which just piles on the workload. The company policy is to pay at the 25% percentile while knowing full well that they are losing people because of the bad pay, unless you're banging somebody in HR, which then the sky seems to be the limit for promotions and pay increases. Ironic, no? Onboarding is non-existent and is a total sink or swim while you're at the mercy of others to help train you (of which nobody has the time because it is so messed up and people are buried in work). Oh and career development consists of LinkedIn Learning courses...because it is of course the cheapest option for Genus. It is the absolute worst place I have ever worked. A talent magnet it is NOT!
