      An Amazing Firm with Amazing People

      Pros

      I was a bit nervous to make a move from my previous firm that I enjoyed but I am so glad that I did. Gilbert CPAs leadership has been more than amazing. Great benefits and work life balance and they give good bonuses/pay raises every year!

      Some of the staff were nice, especially Deborah.

      Cons

      They don’t like thinkers, there was a template for everything that you were expected to follow. Super cheap, pay was below average and they didn’t like to reimburse you for a lot. You were expected to carpool to the clients. Worst of all, they made a huge drama when I gave my two week notice. One of the partners yelled at me in her office. It’s public accounting, turnover is high. Get over it.

      Pros

      The culture is really great and the people are very diverse. There are many opportunities to develop close relations with colleagues. Because everyone’s background is so diverse, you can find someone with similar interests to yours. They offer a competitive pay and standard benefits for the industry.

      Cons

      If you’re not good at communicating boundaries or setting expectations, it can get pretty easy to drown in work and stress. Work life balance can also take a toll after the second year of employment. Bonuses are determined seemingly arbitrarily. Also, if you don’t have extrovert skills, it can be hard to integrate yourself in already close knit cliques.
