Pros

The opportunity to network with people outside of the company in the same profession.

Cons

Micro Management ZERO TRAINING you might get shown how to do something once by somebody who doesn’t even want to train new hires then when you produce something @ their request they only point out your mistake but REFUSE to show you the right way Harsh criticism via email due to things previous employees neglected to do Supervisors use the CEO, SLT and Board of Directors as an excuse to impose unrealistic deadlines on employees performing task that aren’t even in their role description and with very little insight or clear direction Supervisor complains about how busy they are to justify employees being ignored when you ask for help or feedback for improvement

Pros

The new Telemedicine is wonderful and saves the $45 co pay for a doctor’s office visit.

Cons

—Never knowing when you are going to be fired. —No professional growth potential in a flat company. —Salaries are not competitive for the majority of the workforce. —Outside contracting and outsourcing is used too much. —Company won’t hire a full time worker but will pay 4x market rate for a contractor. —The people that know what to do and how to do it are leaving the company as fast as possible. —Unless you are a Director level or above, are single without dependents, or a couple it is not possible to make ends meet on the amount of salary taken home after taxes and “benefits”.

Pros

Most of employees at my peer level or lower are very pleasant. Large trees on the property are pretty during the fall and spring.

Cons

The CEO is about as pleasant as a wet fart on a 100 degree day. Very few members of the senior leadership team are approachable. They keep cutting front line roles that do all of the work, yet hire for higher level roles. Employees are only numbers, are reminded that they're expendable and are treated as such. Employee benefits are so bad, you're better off getting your benefits elsewhere. Also, don't believe the recent HR positive reviews. "Con: Some variance between management styles." Come on - at least try.

Thank you for taking the time to write a GuideOne review on Glassdoor. We appreciate and value feedback, as it is important for us to hear what we are doing well and what we need to improve upon. As a current employee, you may recall what we learned from our recent employee survey; that improving communications both in top-down and two-way communications is important to our employees. We are actively working on strengthening the flow of communication, not just from managers, but from employees to leadership. Rather than just try to improve communications from the top down, we’re making this goal something everyone can work on and benefit from. Being an active employee, I encourage you to reach out to your manager, Business Unit leader or HR Business Partner to talk about these concerns directly. Together we can continue to make GuideOne a great place to work!
