Pros

Almost all Shop Employees were incredibly hard working. A very diverse crew with high morals and standards.

Cons

Management and up looked after themselves only. They don't even har a REAL Human Resources Manager. All management are in their current positions due to their lengthy employment status. Management would frequently speak negatively about other employees. Just so unprofessional and nasty work environment. Somebody at Corporate needs to take a look at the rapid turnover and weed out the bad seeds and reward the good apples.

Pros

The people that work at Heico are absolutely great people. It's the best place I've ever worked in terms of the people that I worked with. Also, bonus is pretty good compared to other companies

Cons

Heico is a publically traded company that is dominated by a few people. They have the autonomy to practically do what they want. HR has absolutely no power in the company so things that shouldn't be happening often does. Upper management is a click and if you are not apart of it then do not expect any advancement no matter how well you have performed. Bonus is often dependent on how much your manager likes you. Most of upper management have been there for 15 or 20 years. All they know is the Heico way and do not listen to any new ideas that do not conform to the traditional way they do business. Systems are antiquated. Everything is VERY manual. Little to no African American representation. Only one african American Manager in the entire organization who was actually got their role because they were already in it when Heico acquired them. No African Americans in upper management at all!

Pros

Their vacation policy is one of the best in any industry. The people that you work with on a daily basis are some of the finest folks you will ever meet and for the most part I was allowed to work without micromanagement and without anyone watching what time I came in or went out. If you work hard in some areas you get leeway to work how you want to and if you need to say go to a doctors appointment or a graduation during the day, I can say I was never penalized. Also, even though there is supposed to be a two week minimum notice to ask for time off, my bosses were never strict dictators because they understand that life happens. Again, the people you work with daily and SOME of the managers there are amazing people.

Cons

Salaries suck and negotiating after accepting a position is fruitless! Using competing job offers after being employed there or even threatening to leave is a hit or miss (mostly miss) strategy. Bonuses are mostly good, sometimes 7-10% of your income but the starting salary is horrible. They will use any excuse to not give you a pay raise. I went more than 4 years once without a pay increase and it wasn’t due to my work ethic or the fact I wasn’t worth it. After presenting my reasons for at least being paid in the range the market said I was worth, I got multiple excuses as to why no raises were given. I won’t repeat them here but I decided that any company that believes you can be paid lower than the bottom end of the market range and easily replaced, is not a company I should stick with so I left. My income went up 40% with my next company and I’ve gotten rave reviews after less than a year of service, the same reviews I got while working with HEICO.
