      Pros

      HOK is a very well structured organisation and aspire to do the right thing in the design business. It is a company with integrity and entrepreneurial spirit.

      Cons

      Sometimes it is too accounting driven and lose sight that it is a design firm.

      Great projects that challenge your skills.

      Specific to SAN FRANCISCO: Absolutely no work life balance. Management expects 16+ hour workdays. Need to work almost every weekend. Submission deadlines often at midnight, daily during the week. Workdays rarely end before 11:00pm, every night. No over time pay. Terrible time management on the part of principals. Tasks often added on after 5pm and made due early next morning. Absolutely no recognition for all the time and hard work put in by staff. Snide and condescending remarks by senior staff in almost every meeting, belittling work.
