Run!!!! Far away as possible from this company!
21 May 2023 - Retail ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The dogs to be honest with you and some coworkers. A lot of our clients were really amazing as well.
Cons
The whole upper management is just favoritism left and right so if you don’t kiss *ss you are not a favorite and won’t get any attention or even go up in the ladder as they do their favorites first before anyone else. When they fired a lot of people in hq level and closed stores? It all went downhill from there. They made a decision of promoting someone who had a lot of issues before and had sexual assaults to a lot of team members to other stores but what did they do? They promoted him and the one that deserved that promotion left and same with me i left because they promoted someone before me so i left as well so learn from your mistakes people and the same person made the same decision this time around. Like come on! Be better!!! They’re spending more money now than they should because every body is leaving and they can’t retain people anymore and i believe they’re closing another store 🫢 believe me the sexual assault still works there so be careful 🤭!!!

Look elsewhere

*If you have a great team, the job is not terrible. Buts that’s a big IF. *They do provide you with leniency if you ask of it (ex preferred times off, medical condition) but can be another if they think it doesn’t mess up with the store flow.
Cons
*Will put the customer above employees concern until it becomes a bigger problem. *Higher up communion dipped down over the past two years. *Not sure if it wants to still be a store that is about a community over a store that needs goals to be met. *Favoritism can be seen often.

Pros
Great knowledge, working with dogs, and a good discount. Most people you work with share the same passion.
Cons
Like any retail environment, it's tough working on your feet for 8hours (a stool would be nice) and dealing with difficult situations. There were layoffs done at HQ that a few months ago and it's severely impacted the level of support us working in-store receive. We lost our district manager during that time, and the new one we have doesn't seem to have time to help. The old manager would at least answer our calls, listen, and try to help fix issues. She would be in-store to check on us and help with inventory too. Now it's hard to even get a response back (even an email!), feels like the store is running with no management. Employees are starting to feel burnout from being overworked and underheard. often we don't have the right inventory levels to meet customer needs, and we can't always SWAT which then affects our ability to hit goals.

Amazing company with amazing people

- Healthy Spot is extremely committed to their mission of inspiring healthy pet lifestyles. Pet owners can be very hard to please and despite many challenges, the company remains laser focused on helping pets thrive. - The people I worked with at the headquarters are some of the hardest working, most dedicated, kindest people I’ve ever met. Mark and Andrew are fearless leaders who strive to create a productive and inspiring work environment. I learned so much from my time working with them and will always look up to them. The person who truly made my time at Healthy Spot stand out though was Senior Director of Marketing Reva Choi. In the 5+ years I’ve known her, she’s been nothing but supportive, kind, and hard-working and to my knowledge, every team member she’s worked with feels similarly. She navigated the marketing department through the pandemic and helped the team come out even stronger. Reva will forever be a mentor for me and I am forever grateful to have worked with her! - Employee discounts on retail and grooming. Free daycare for dogs 30lbs and under. - You can bring your dog to work!
Cons
- Pay was a little lower than I would have liked. - Would have loved more diverse health insurance options.

You get to work with dogs, every day! You will learn a lot about pet nutrition. Great discount on some of the best pet products and services (dog grooming, small dog daycare) you'll find. The people you work with are passionate about pets. The staff is very diverse and welcoming. The company has been in a slow and steady growth pattern as long as I've worked here. There are a lot of opportunities to advance.
Cons
You've got to be able to work on your feet - if that's not for you, this isn't the right job. These customers love their pets as much as you love yours, and they have high expectations - you have to take the nutrition and pet behavior training seriously, and deliver excellent customer service. Standards are high here, and A Players want to work with other A Players.

Horrible Management!!!!
25 May 2023 - Salon Manager in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Seeing puppies and loyal, local customers.
Cons
The management, the staff they hire. The staff that they hired treated everyone horribly. They don't pay you enough to deal with what you have to. Employees that treat dogs horribly, and other staff. Disrespectful and made alot of people quite . They still have that staff member working for them and customers still reach out to me and tell me about how terrible it ids. Lost a lot of the employees I worked with.

Pros
You learn a lot about optimal pet diets and behavior! As well as interacting with lots of dogs on the daily!
Cons
Maybe if carrying a lot or heavy weight isn’t your forte, but you can build up muscle with time as well! Also if you are a bit on the shy side, but it could help you open up interacting with lots of customers on the daily!
