Pros

The only positive thing I could think is that it's fully Remote

Cons

Let me start off with stating that the chances of you being terminated without warning is high! As of Aug 2023 20-30% of the sales floor was terminated without notice. If you are looking for a stable job this is not the place for you. - 3 weeks training. 2 weeks training and 1 week on the phones and expected to be experts at the end - No Help from upper management - SVP os Sales is horrible - Director of Sales doesn't have real expectations - No benefits - No clear structure on commission pay out which changes monthly if you even get commission - You will have to live off of the small base pay - Quotas gets raised Month after Month so getting commission is basically impossible - Leads are dried out, reused, and abused (Good Luck) - Often Mass Employee Terminations - Even the high ranking employee leave over time - They hire everyone because they need to replace the amount of people leaving

Pros

There are some really great people doing their best to make things better.

Cons

If you are thinking about working here, please do some research. Do a simple search for the names on the leadership page and see if any documentaries come up. You might find some interesting similarities for how this company is run. There is a CEO and a “CEO”, neither of which have ever done this before. Who’s really in charge? Layoffs are used as a normal strategy (3x in 18 months). After closing the SF and Austin offices (and still paying for them), the new plan is to open an office in NYC, so if you don’t live there, the clock is ticking. Also, ask about the customer retention rate. Ask about why they keep selling to customers they know won’t use the product and will not renew. Honestly, if you are considering taking a job here, be careful. With barely any leadership team and almost no engineering team, the battle between the CEOs and the terrible customer usage, this is a company with limited time. And if you currently work at Hearth, I would recommend starting to look elsewhere.

Pros

Everyone I worked with was pleasant and the work is remote.

Cons

Insultingly low base pay for a "senior" level account executive position ($20/hr). Your tasks are mostly that of an SDR, yet most SDR's I know are making substantially more on a base level without the additional responsibility of closing the deal. Monthly commissions do not pay out until you are 80% of your ARR goal of around 8-12k. The list of reps that hit payout could be counted on one hand. The product and its value is the main con: Hearth is a middleman between the General Contractor and the Financing Company. The only proprietary thing they offer is a slapped-together CRM created to justify asking for $2,400/year from a Contractor. Their biggest value prop is the loans offered do not have dealer fees". However, Contractors can go directly to companies like Acorn Finance and get the same lender's Hearth is partnered with, with no dealer fees, and the service is free for the contractor to use. Daily KPI's foster early burnout. 120 dials, 3 hours of talk time, on top of running 3-4 demos a day trying to sell a mind-numbingly bad product with no real value other than generating revenue for Hearth. If you have sales experience, or honestly even if you don't. Have some self-respect and decline the offer from Hearth if it is extended.
