Cons

Low pay to begin with; no cost-of-living raises or promotional raises (editors are capped at $20/hr). Healthcare is 14% of salary and 401k match is 4%, which is an additional 18% on top of $20, making your total wage a whopping $23.60/hr. Most freelance jobs pay $25-$30/hr. The pay-to-work ratio verges on abuse and exploitation. Morale is low because employees feel like their skills and knowledge are expendable. If you're looking for flexibility or experience, freelancing would be a more worthwhile endeavor.

Cons

I was given more work with no raise. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. It also felt like a dead end job. They will give you more responsibilities and make it sound positive (like you're going to receive a promotion), but all you get is additional duties beyond your job description and unfair compensation for it.

This Company Severely Underpays & Takes Advantage of Workers

Coworkers and engineers are fun and wonderful to work with.

Cons

Company really granularly and invasively tracks employee time. More work is piled on without commensurate compensation. Management gives punitive "feedback" instead of support and training. Wages are well below market and management almost never gives raises.
