Payouts are the way forward

Pros

Free bar, once was a “buzz” in the company”

Cons

They spend more money on payouts and football sponsorship than they do in their staff. When you join, you’re sold the dream, all the awards, the bar, the radio, everything in-between. But it’s a lie… the management have said theirselves that they need to “keep up the image” while the whole company falls down around them. There’s no vision, everyone is driving in a different direction. Since I left, I know 15 people who were offered payouts and left the company due to “performance” with no performance management plan, no less up to it, but around £10k - £25K in their pocket. That’s not not including the redundancies… There was once a great culture and vibe at Huboo, but I’m afraid all that’s let if the shells of people who once cared about the place. For your own sanity, don’t work at Huboo.

It was once the best place to work

Pros

Good bar, great team mates, cool offices and free car parking in town. Lots of progress for people. Entrepreneurial spirit. Generally enjoyed my job.

Cons

I worked for huboo for a while and saw it change from a dynamic fun start up where everyone worked really hard and helped each other, to a stressful environment where people were petrified due to the shocking blame culture. This really came from the top down and effected every facet of the business. Lots of people are leaving now as they don't feel safe in their jobs following multiple flurries of redundancy. Progression is great, but people are promoted in to positions in which they have no experience and get no support in those positions. No proper vision or mission for people to get behind. Feels like sales are just told to follow the money, not the business model. This has left loads of "multi-million" pound deals actually costing the business money due to high operational costs needed to satisfy the client.

Sinking ship

Pros

Was once a good culture and energy.

Cons

I am absolutely fuming about the way things are being run at Huboo! It's like the upper level management has completely forgotten what it means to actually work for a living. Instead, they just run around having a jolly old time while they squander all the money that investors have put into this company without giving anything back in return. It's an absolute disgrace! What's worse, they won't even listen to anyone who tries to offer up some constructive feedback or suggest that they start doing things differently. It's like they think they're above reproach or something. Meanwhile, the culture of Huboo is dying a slow and painful death, and it's all because these so-called "leaders" refuse to take anything seriously. I've seen some incredibly talented people get shown the door, all while the most incompetent and undeserving chiefs continue to hold onto their cushy salaries. It's downright infuriating! If this is how they're going to continue to run things at Huboo, then we're all just riding on a sinking ship straight to the bottom of the ocean. Something has to change, and it has to change fast, before it's too late.
