Pros

HyperionDev is a business responsive to the demands in the market. The business is making the right decisions to position itself well in a global education industry with increasingly complex requirements. Staff from various departments are committed to the students' outcomes. They are continuously improving and responsive to the feedback from our students and partners. The customer-centric culture is key to the business effectively navigating the industry and markets. There are also opportunities for growth if one is willing to explore, learn and develop. If one is ready to step up, the business recognises that and rewards accordingly. If you contribute meaningfully to the business' success, that will not go unseen.

Cons

There have been a few reviews in the past that try to undermine the company and its product. The company is growing and part of that growth often means unpopular but necessary decisions need to be made. The popular decision is not always the right decision. While reading such reviews, it's important to keep the business' operating context in mind.

High Turnover, Micromanagement, and Poor Work Environment

Pros

- Some great colleagues who are stuck in the mess. - Free lunch/voucher once a week

Cons

- Management is poorly structured, with a lot of incompetence at the top. - Micromanagement is constant, and there’s no trust in employees to do their jobs. - Gaslighting and dismissive behaviour are common—constructive feedback is often ignored or turned against you. - Benefits are minimal and far below industry standards. - The forced return to the office policy is unnecessary and demotivating, especially when remote work was working well. - The 8-10 week notice period is unreasonable and a huge burden when you're looking to move on. - No real career development or growth opportunities—you're basically stuck unless you're willing to accept mediocrity. - The overall environment is toxic, with a focus on profits over people. - There's a revolving door of employees—people leave all the time due to the toxic work culture and poor management, so it feels like no one stays for long.

Pros

- Incredibly kind, smart, and supportive team - great people to work with - Exposure to diverse business functions including strategy, marketing, product development, and business development - Flat structure with a lean hierarchy that encourages ownership and autonomy - Strong learning and growth curve - your contributions are visible and valued - Good pay, recognition, and promotion opportunities based on merit

Cons

Only if you take these as Cons - Fast-paced and demanding - you need to stay sharp and adaptable - Work can get intense during peak periods, which may impact work-life balance at times - You really need to be passionate about EdTech and building things from scratch to thrive in the long run - Should be open to receiving constructive criticism and using it as a growth opportunity

High expectations, low stability and limited growth

Pros

Offers exposure to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Opportunities to develop resilience and problem-solving skills. Some talented and dedicated individuals within the teams. Offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Cons

Limited compensation growth, including an unreliable bonus structure, few incentives or benefits, and minimal or no annual increases. Persistent and excessive staff turnover, leading to chronic instability, lost knowledge, and constant disruption across many teams. A clear lack of leadership accountability, with commitments frequently made but rarely honoured, resulting in low trust, poor morale, and widespread disengagement. Underperforming support functions, resulting in delays and ongoing communication challenges.

Leadership is supportive and genuinely invested in your growth, and there are always opportunities to learn and take on new challenges. It’s a place where your contributions are valued, and you feel like you’re part of something meaningful. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dynamic and rewarding environment!

Cons

The fast-paced environment might not be for everyone — but it's perfect if you enjoy being challenged and staying engaged.
