Pros

-Nice enough people -Fairly independent work -Feels like a good springboard for alternative, more interesting opportunities if you're willing to stick it out and also work on hard skills that aren't trained in the role (data analysis, data vis, etc)

Cons

-Very repetitive and boring -Actual product is being encroached on by AI (especially as the entire team will be USING AI to assist in generating the content produced and sold to clients and the company response to this isn't great) -You're probably going to catch yourself working outside of regular hours fairly regularly and the salary is pretty bad given that's the case

Pros

Some very nice people A sociable, old school culture, drinks weekly etc Interesting finance clients, those they're holding on to One of those places everyone says the glory days were long gone - 2014ish sounded great, huge clients, good product, loads of commission. Those days are LONG gone and they're hemorrhaging their biggest clients to GenAI. Product today is rubbish, essentially a general template with little sharp insight

Cons

A commercial culture of obsession with internal politics and internal optics - it seems the most important factor is how things LOOK to senior leadership Brazenly manipulative Head of and Director of Client Services A lack of trust to the extent that it's hilarious, being treated like children Priorities change at a moment's notice and all resources must be redirected to some usually pointless new task at the will of the Client Services Director (whose decisions are very much dependent on his mood) Everyone held to an impossible standard, expected to enact prolonged, perfunctory processes and rarely commended for good work I was told by the CS Director that I owed my hitting target to my line manager winning new business for me, wheb he didn't sit on a single new business call with me. Just nasty and manipulative A class of global senior leadership who descend on an office and for one week every couple of months and do nothing except blow smoke up each other. The CEO in fairness seems to be the exception. Salary is poor, commission is decent
