Top down management, micromanagement, using WeChat as a tool to work and can send employees work related messages any time including late night and during holidays. Some managers scold employees often in public loudly.

Relaxed job, management does not aim to make money so your targets are very low.

Cons

The bank habitually uses deceptive recruiting tactic, hiding key facts about the jobs and only revealing them once candidates have already resigned from their previous positions and accepted the ICBC Standard offer. As a result, some departments are understaffed due to high turnover. The bank also greatly over-promises on compensation. HR is aware of these method, turns a blind eye and supports the management in continuing this practice. Similar situation has happened to a few of my colleagues who have since resigned, but their careers have suffered serious damages as a result. It is a dishonest employer that you should avoid at all costs.

it is easy to outperform in the bank due to general levels of incompetencies among its employees.

Cons

Organisation crippled by redtape. Management focus more on office politics than actually doing something to sustain the business.
