Pros

If you are joining the IDEMIA on seeing the brand value, dreaming to work in a French based MNC culture in Singapore then all your imaginations will shatter once you join the company. Nothing there to say as Pros

Cons

In simple words to say, if you want to ruin your carrier by yourself then you can join this company. The company will hire you for a position X and after joining the company they will be asking you to do A to Z which will be totally out of scope. No one will give you any KT, from day one you are on your own, if you ask any details or doubts they will be giving some useless documents to read and understand which would be totally a waste of time 1) First and fore most rule of thumb in IDEMIA is “Never ask any questions”, “Never say no to anything”. You are not supposed to provide them any suggestions or advise, they say and you do (Simply a slave attitude) 2) You will be "Jack of all trades, master of none". Even you be a jack of all trades will not be helpful once you leave the company. 3) The place of work mostly will be sitting on the grounds or in the Data Center’s for project commissioning, there won’t be any proper place to sit and work. If you can work in the cold environments like 14 degrees or sitting on the for longer periods then you are most welcome to the company. 4) The top management really don’t care about the people who were working on the ground, they doesn’t even bothered to speak / ask the people concerns or to address their problems they face on the ground. 5) Another sucking issue is there is no team work at all, each team will blame other team for the problems and mistakes and issue will open for ever. 6) There is a weekly time sheet to be filled for the project activities, timesheet estimation were done by Project Managers (PM)’s. PM will not ask the technical persons to understand how much efforts are needed to complete each tasks. If you ask for 8 days they will give you 3 days and too PM will reject the timesheet for stupid reasons. If timesheet were rejected for the week then it means that you have not done any work for the week. 7) Project Managers were bosses here and whatever feedback they give to management will stand for ever, direct reporting managers were just a puppet here and they just to assign the people for the projects to the PM’s 8) Project Managers were another dump persons they don’t understand any technical glitch the engineers face, they will be in their wonder land and commit something to the customer in the meeting and wants us to do even it is impossible to perform. 9) Don’t even think of Salary hikes, whatever you get during the joining will stay as your salary for next 3 years period. 10) Bonus will be only in your papers and you won’t get anything in hand and they have reasons to say that company performance is not well and your performance is not up to the mark. 11) Groupism exit in the company, you will realize them after joining the company. 12) No career growth, you will lose your career

Pros

Good working environment for a hard working and talent employee. The management always reward you with more works and tasks. Expect employee to reply email and messages during off time and public holiday as well as on leave period.

Cons

If you like politics, this is superb company you may looking for. Politics here best ever that the US politics. If you like pressure, here is good place for you. The management treat every tasks as important, critical and urgent. The "good" planning always be your last minutes emergency work delivery. If you like quiet work place, welcome to this company. The management do not communicate with the team or (assigned) engineers on the Project, CR, SR and deployment requirement. Assumption and guessing is the keyword here. If you like silo working style, join this company. The management always use the word "you should know" regardless of topics. Teams within the same department charged, blame, calculate each others. Perfect example for silo working culture. If you like travel, come here. The management just simply assign you to any team/ project as per they wish and want. Your outstanding tasks can simply throws to your teammate or direct manager, without any handover needed. If you like meeting, perfect working place here. There is a clueless and pointless daily meeting for you to say nothing but just let the managers and fight each others. If you like clarity, do contribute here. Management always wish you to work extra and more to fulfill their KPIs. "You work hard and hard, managers claim credits". Do not expect appreciation from them. If you like unplanned work, join now. The best approach of the managers are "NO PLAN". Just work accordingly what is their current mindset. SOPs just a work, not a framework here. If you like challenge, management culture here fits you well. The management will keep challenging your patient, workload, and stress in monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, and every minutes over their "BEST" planning, arrangement and practice. If you like multitasking, apply to this company. Any managers across the team will assigned you any backlogs they want. Some backlogs are pending for years with no senior or managers or document guidance.

Good afternoon and thank you for such a detailed review. First of all, let me tell you that we´re sorry you are not having such a great experience at IDEMIA. I have taken the opportunity to share your comment with our leadership team and the local HR so that they can assess what we can do to provide better services and a working environment for our employees. We´re also looking at the results of the I Speak Up survey and working on the follow-up action plans region by region, so we really hope using the feedback to improve all we do is the key to go. Thank you for all your contributions to IDEMIA´s success. Kind regards, we_care@idemia.com

Pros

Good place for idiots to retire.

Cons

I worked for less than a year at the PSI-SDI BU. Staff are leaving faster than they can be replaced. MTBF is getting shorter, whilst MTTR is getting longer. The smarter folks have left the organisation, because their value is appreciated elsewhere, whereas the not-so-smart folks remain as they have no value elsewhere. Managers do not manage, but play the hot potato game. Ultimately, the staff ( engineers ) and the customer will suffer. PSI BU does NOT have a unique product designed, built and maintained by IDEMIA. Everything is picked off the shelf and glued together using JBOSS.
