Good Company, Bad Owners

Pros

The company sees a variety of work. Great learning potential.

Cons

At Tulsa, OK location, I dealt with some of the most immature supervisors I've ever had. The owners are married. I went to lunch with the husband (my boss) because he asked me. I turned him down the first time, but he asked again and I said yes. We go to lunch and come back. Within a week, I could tell something was wrong. The supervisors literally made up infractions to accuse me of. I finally put in my two weeks and served it all the way through. Now I'm with a much more stable company!

Pros

I loved that it was a small team, I loved the part-time position that was offered so I had the flexibility to still be involved with children's school and great work life balance. I loved that each project was different and new each time.

Cons

Not a place for a beginner. Pay wage was low, for the amount of materials and skills they expected you to know walking into the job or to pick up quickly. The learning curve is quite large for someone totally new to the industry and as a designer they were not patient or understanding within the first month especially for someone new if you made mistakes they be-littled you making you feel anxious and nervous with every new challenge. To me for a new employee and only getting paid a small amount I got let go for a reason that was lagit, but the problems I had were issues I've had at many jobs as a new employee. With a little training and more time, and just one warning would have been sufficient to be a wake up call. I would have never quit on them just because I struggled understanding things, or made a few mistakes on one project. I would have stayed and worked hard to understand and get things more clearly.

Pros

Literally none whatsoever, this place was so toxic and unkind.

Cons

Mean owners who are judgmental and extremely hard to get along with. You will not be trained. You will be judged. They will not give feedback on your performance and will expect you to read minds. They will be super sweet one second and then fire you the next. They will also awkwardly fight in front of their employees leading to high tension in the office environment, which will put you on edge. Very uncomfortable.
