Pros

A fun but chaotic place to work Due to the lack of order, processes and ownership you can turn your role into whatever you want and focus on areas you are interested in Lots of smart people who are easy to work with

Cons

Revolving door of company leadership with ever changing strategy Large layoffs and re-organisations multiple times a year (despite saying each time was the last) Internal communications are tone deaf and badly thought out Pay rises and promotions are not fairly distributed and need to be fought hard for General dishonesty and over-optimism from leadership about overall direction and prospects Salary's/other compensation don't match the market

Pros

The hybrid scheme is very nice. Colleagues are friendly and welcoming.

Cons

The TC is so outdated that is not strange getting 2X/3X TC on competitors, yet the C suite keeps repeating they pay market rate salaries... Benefits package is in part discretionary and they randomly offer extras to some people, leading to toxicity in the workplace. In a bid to cut costs, the company decided to let go of its last remaining graphics experts (2023 was exceptionally hard). These were individuals with many years of experience and deep institutional knowledge, crucial to the company's success. After witnessing this, even more engineers are choosing to leave, exacerbating the talent drain. The short-term savings have come at a high cost, as now the company has to pay much more for less experienced replacements, which, while potentially talented, lack the expertise, nuanced understanding and technical knowledge their predecessors brought to the table. Profitable projects are consistently underinvested, hampering their growth potential and leading to missed opportunities. Meanwhile, products with little sales potential receive disproportionate funding. There is a significant reluctance to invest in research and engineers are forced to rely on their previous experience to cover what should be addressed through dedicated investigations and innovation. This shortsighted approach stifles creativity and prevents the development of new technologies and solutions that could keep the company competitive. This misallocation of resources reflect a profound lack of strategic vision.

I'm glad you find your colleagues welcoming and friendly, and that the hybrid working framework is beneficial. I've noted your other points and shared them with the relevant leaders. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review, despite it not being overly positive it is good to hear from our people. Jo Jones

A deeply troubled company

Pros

Used to be a nice place to work, with excitement, good tech, and interesting development opportunities. Good opportunity for people who are in the first couple of years in their careers.

Cons

The company has completely lost its direction. The last 3 years the company is only shrinking in terms of size, products and tech. People with questionable credentials, experience and skills have taken key positions. Managing up matters above anything else. The so called strategy is "lost in translation". There isn't any really. Big ambitions and plans with no real substance behind it and long-term direction that changes at a rate which is not healthy. Overall poor compensation and other benefits are below when compared to what others offer in the same space (companies Imagination supposedly competes with). Impossible to retain key staff. Massive loss of expertise, both technically and on leadership. Future of the company is locked and it's not going to be somethign glorious (ok maybe for a very selected few). Culture is broken and the so called Values don't resonate with anyone.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. While it’s difficult to hear, we genuinely value input like this, as it allows us to reflect on areas where we can improve. The past few years have indeed brought significant challenges, both from within the industry and in the broader market. These shifts have required us to make tough decisions to adapt and remain competitive. Some of these changes, while necessary, have undoubtedly impacted our size, focus, and operations. However, they have also been made with the long-term health and sustainability of the company in mind. Building a strong and aligned leadership team is a priority, and we’re continuously refining our strategies to ensure clarity and substance behind our goals. We are also committed to strengthening our culture and ensuring that our values resonate deeply with all employees. Retention of talent is a critical and we are continuously reviewing our compensation and benefits to remain competitive within the industry. We know our people are our most valuable asset, and retaining expertise is vital to our future success. We recognise the frustration expressed here and encourage constructive dialogue to help us improve. We appreciate the contributions of all employees—past and present—and remain committed to navigating these challenges with transparency and purpose. Jo Jones
