Plenty of nice colleagues who are always there to help and guide each other. Good working culture among selected groups or departments (subjective, depends on the country you work in).
Cons
A stifling work environment where management (or rather one of them) asks you to rat on one another. Overly personal questions are often asked to the team “in private” and used for performance guidelines, such as marital and health status. A small and lean team that will be made to work while on paid leave, sick leave, or up to 7 additional hours after official working hours have ended. The team is “requested” to check their emails on weekends and even to have their personal mobile line and text messaging apps made accessible for all work-related communication going out. Limited / no breaks are encouraged, and you could be scolded for drinking too much water from the pantry as it is under the company’s expense. Team lunches arranged by management are also asked to be split among the team, sometimes costing up to 10x of a usual lunch expense for a regular hire. Colleagues have shared that the team received a limit of 2 smoke breaks per day while management easily goes for one EVEry hour. Late salary payouts have been known to happen. No bonuses or healthcare is offered and promotions are applicable only to long-time staff. Everyone good who joined has left or likely planning to leave.
