Pros

You get to work at home

Cons

Business seems to be based on telling people what they do, but not actually doing it. Management don't have a consistent message and seem to contradict each other. They don't say good things about each other much. Much of the work is in support with lower paid people, investment in people is only if helps certification for Microsoft. Communication is made up of updates to say things until now were not so good this way so we’re doing it this way now, dismissing the past. No investment in the company for technology or solutions sold. Sales seems to be based on Microsoft funding and talk about growth in AI but having contractor delivering it. No actual AI projects despite messaging from leadership. Anyone decent or nice has left and three new people have been related to a director. Six other directors left in last year, plus five in sales, three in project management, five in development, basically 100% turnover from merged and current company. Monthly company update stopped communicating leavers or state people are taking a role in the parent company but they are not. Original non exec directors now not involved for some reason. Some awful people work here. In my experience allegations of bullying are ignored or even encouraged, homophobia is not uncommon, C-suite can be very unpleasant (suggest people shut up in recent discussion), but then talk about making work being a better place, not a bitter place, inconsistent with how people are treated – often before they leave. It may well be that anyone still here enjoys their job, some people must do but a lot of people have left as well.

Pros

Was a great model of hybrid working with great colleagues below management

Cons

Management is and always will be the core problem. Their special way of working making it very hostile and uncomfortable for the engineers all the way to other departments. No culture whatsoever which needs reviewing. A rotating door model in getting people in letting people go. Cocky middle management with a failed leadership. Have no sense of directions just merge with as many organisations they can to look profitable. Making below the power line colleagues work overtime and no reward or praise given. One minute they want to deliver workshops next minute then want everyone to be a successor in digital transformation all the way to MSP experts from being true architects to professional pitchers. You get told to speak freely but tread carefully due to the Nepotism where they are all loyal friends and family from previous jobs, getting promotions and excelling is near to impossible. Failed in getting the message across and operating the business to closing deals. False promises no deliverance.

Ingentive Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback, we are sorry that your experience working for Ingentive was not a positive one. Whilst we respect your perspective, we do not agree with it. Your comments around culture and hostility are surprising since we strive to create a positive and supportive work environment, which is reflected in the feedback we receive from most teammates. We allow family members to gain work experience within the environment and offer opportunities to successful people we have worked with in the past, which is perhaps where your comments around nepotism come from. We have a strong organisational structure, with a balanced management and leadership team who operate an open-door policy for voicing concerns. Ingentive spent the first part of 2024 integrating two different businesses and systems, which naturally can cause a change in structure and direction. However, we do not operate a rotating door model, in fact, we do the opposite by celebrating the tenure of our teammates. We invite you to chat to HR or the CEO directly for if you wish to discuss any of your comments further.

Pros

You get a wage, I can't think of much else

Cons

Such a management/director front loaded company, marketing themselves well but with zero capacity or capability to meet what they have promised to deliver to customers. The excused this behaviour when directly asked by saying it's a start-up mentality and not everyone was cut out for it. Incredibly toxic culture, for example; ops director shouting at staff on the regular, I personally witnessed bullying of single members of staff multiple times in the length of time I was there. No clear direction from the company management team, they seemed to flip into what ever space that Microsoft had funding in, showing a real lack of ability to get any work outside of those awarded directly to them. Some of the members of staff (never the directors) were working 60+ hours a week to meet work obligations, regularly in daily standups you would hear of other members of staff having been consistently working late (early AM hours) to complete work that was promised the next day, showing that there was no real understanding on effort required to complete customer tasks, etc from the team selling solutions. There's literally no job security it feels like it could collapse at a moments notice, this is apparent in the median tenure of company employees.
