The new CIO Connie Pilot is the Kim Jong Un of Inova. What used to be a fun and positive environment, is now a depressing environment of fear and the unknown. People with decades of experience were replaced by contractors that have no idea what they are doing. The new regime of IT directors from an insurance company have so little respect for people, that they believe they can fire people with decades of experience and replace them with contractors and it is a complete disaster. For a company who's job is to care for people, these former insurance employees who now run IT see people as numbers and liabilities and will throw long term great workers away like they are Tuesday's trash. The IT dept did need change and to catch up with the rest of the world with security and technology, but the way the new regime goes about it is hilariously unfortunate, poorly thought out and planned. IT service and support is currently a disaster. If you are an IT professional and you don't think you would like to work for a dictator, walk on egg shells and work in a negative environment, stay away.

Poor management. Managers are not trained or truly qualified to handle the role. As a result, there is constantly a lot of tension. Employees do not feel empowered because the managers mood dictates how they are treated on any giving day. Work setting is lack-luster for a corporate office setting. No work-life balance at all. Recruitment staff are setup to work in cubes - think Wolf of Wallstreet. HR staff very clicky - they don't miggle with the peasants, unless they are about to "get the ax." An unpleasant group of people. How is this when your department is called "Human Resources?" There is a lot of instability where employees do not know what will happen next. If you like playing Russian roulette with your career, this seems like the ideal organization to work for. No need for job descriptions when most do a medley of different jobs consistently. Most fall under "and other duties as assigned." Employees want to feel like they are developing/continuing a career, not just doing a job. Things should not be like this.
