Pros

Work is comparatively very easy

Cons

I would look elsewhere. Communication during interview process was handled unprofessionally. The role and supervisor for the position I interviewed for were changed after my final interview, and I did not have a 1on1 interview with my supervisor prior to starting. Was notified of this change via linkedin message from an employee and I was left confused and stressed. Culture is very toxic, constant negative talk about colleagues and employees when they are not in the room. If someone leaves the room, they're going to be talked about by their supervisor and colleagues. I was told by an employee that I need a masters degree to progress as a scientist, and I've since accepted a position making nearly double my salary at J-STAR with just a BS. The work here is easy, however everyone here acts as if they are being worked to the ground. I was treated well overall, but employees are difficult to communicate with and I was micro managed by one individual who made working here quite unpleasant. PTO is lacking.
