Bad culture and management

Pros

Location is a prime location and company has a brand

Cons

There were many issues that arrived JAC to this state. 1) Bad management that is just purely myopic and only looking at short term wins. 2) There is not a shred of improvement on oneself and employees are just basically Ants in a company with no say . 3) Some of the results are also being manipulated just to satisfy the management. Guess what happens in the end. 4) Management has no direction or rather it keeps changing without any plans. 5) Goals are unrealistic and company does not realize down periods . To top it off there are no contingency plans and the blaming game starts. 6) It has gone from bad to worse as it is purely political now. Those that stay are those that enjoy sucking up.

Pros

Good commission structure Good Japanese clients Nice office with chill out area Nice colleagues

Cons

Management likes to change rules suddenly and one day you will just get faulted without knowing why (eg dress codes changing from smart casual to formal, WFH from 2 days to none to 1 day, using WFH policy to 'punish' teams for not achieving targets) Inflated sales numbers allegedly leading to recent termination of one of the top billers Very top-down approach (all instructions pass down from APAC MD, SG MD doesn't seem to have any say) Insane increase in sales target overnight (jumping from $1.1m to $1.6m after CEO announces 30% increase in revenue globally) Empty talks about training and development, giving ample time to grow before you are employed (once you start working you get placed on PIP below 70% of your target and let go immediately if you can't achieve target again) No USP except for Japanese speaking roles, managers not even strongest in their own industries and can't BD new business themselves Senior management loves to conduct day-long weekly meeting instead of spending time with people on the ground

Thank you for your comments, however the above does not give an accurate review of the business. With regards to flexibility, we have a standard policy in place of 3-2, which we also empower our managers to manage within their teams to ensure there is a balance between performance and flexibility to support all. Any updates or changes are clearly communicated to the business not just via team meetings but also at company-wide month-end meetings. As part of being a transparent and mature environment, we have clear expectations for performance and behaviour which also includes dress code and being ready to meet a client or candidate at short notice—this is a standard everyone is held to. If the above continues to be unclear please do come to speak to me directly as our united goal is to continue to grow our business and, most importantly our people's careers. From the review above it seems there is some misalignment which I would be happy to address with you personally; transparency is key for us all here. Cons

All managers are from japan, no Singapore market knowledge Racist, they bias against non japanese & whites (their pay is much higher than other ethnicity/race) 90% japan client because of weak local connection in Singapore Public company but extremely stingy Focus on efficiency, not performance and result Narrow mindset
