Long work hours, zero respect for your personal time outside of work. The president of the company is a narcissistic jerk who enjoys instilling fear in people through playing games with their pay/hours and affecting their ability to survive. If you do not bow down to him and sing his praises to boost his ego, and respect his every wish, you will have a horrible time working for JSC. The husband and wife owners pretend to be Jesus loving and God fearing people, who built this entire company out of love and care for people. In reality, after working for this company for quite some time I can only assume they are scam artists who know how to spin a good story, since they allow their company to be run in an abusive and slave-like fashion with no changes in management (not leadership like they like to say. There's no leadership here). This company has lost countless great employees in all departments for various reasons, stemming from allegations against the president himself of some pretty unsavory behaviors to unpaid work hours to downright abusive conditions. They run their restaurants on beyond bare minimum standards, have zero regard for local and national regulatory authorities and think they can do whatever they want. I wish I could begin to list some of the fraudulent activities this company enlists to ensure they look good on paper, but that's a can of worms I won't even open. Just know they run filthy restaurants and get shut down for major health violations, but yet their health inspection reports never seem to reflect this violations... They have no integrity in all aspects, including encouraging (or downright enforcing) cheating/metrics fraud. Upper management reeks of homophobia and bigotry. I wouldn't recommend anyone I know to eat here, nevermind work here. They offer the worst possible health insurance plans with awful deductibles and heavily restricted networks that covers nothing useful. They promise bonuses and then upper management plays games and finds a reason to not pay them every time. This company has been rotting from the head on for years, and based on how things are running now they seem to be down to just their tail.
