      Meaningful mission overshadowed by destructive leadership.

      Pros

      Mission is thoughtful and life changing for the agency’s clients when the agency is successful in bringing it to fruition.

      Cons

      Executive Leadership Team and the SVPs. The agency is top heavy with them. They lack leadership skills, vision, strategy, accountability, integrity, business sense.

      Great job but terrible employer culture and pay

      The job itself is great. Love what I do and enjoy helping the clients. Work-life balance is very good as well.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, JVS is terrible employer. It's ironic that we try to help people find quality jobs and try to help employers be quality employers, and yet JVS itself does the opposite. Intentionally underpays employees (not even a livable wage for Boston), limited career progression opportunities, toxic leadership and culture from the top down, no strategic focus on our actual goals, and double standards for work expectations. Really questionable decision-making.

      Pros

      Clients, colleagues (especially those not in upper management), and the fact that its hybrid is great.

      Cons

      JVS is an archaic institution briddled with institutionalized racism, nepotism, power affinity, and the culture just isn't great at all. Since the old CEO had left, it has done NOTHING but go downhill. JVS treats people like they're products.
