Pros

flexible dress code, generous vacation time, many departments to work in.

Cons

Unnecessary paperwork, favoritism amongst staff, less emphasis on client care and more about time spent and documentation

Pros

Clients are great to work with. You can move from department to department (I.e. Start in recreation then move onto case management). Great place to get feet wet in social work field. Recreation dept can be really fun.

Cons

As with any job, you need to stay positive, because some people can have a negative attitude. You need patience and love to work with individuals with special needs. Don't enter this field of work unless you want to show love to the clients.
