A lot of high tech laboratories, colleagues usually very committed, competent and nice

Cons

Practically impossible to get a permanent position, even after many years of high performance. Big difficulties to find another job after working there...

Pros

Good equipment and experienced coworkers in the part that is a national research lab. Sufficient resources for instruments. Nice labs.

Cons

Bureaucracy. After the merger of the university and the national research lab this is a needy, two-headed monster. Contracts mostly for one or two years.
