Pros

Good colleagues apart from management in Singapore

Cons

While I am grateful for the guidance and support of many colleagues who were instrumental to my success, I feel it is necessary to share my concerns about the company’s leadership practices. Initially, I was hesitant to write this review, but after hearing similar struggles from others, I realized these issues have become too significant to ignore. My experience was marked by a consistently unprofessional management style. I often observed misleading communication and unprofessional back talk among leadership, which created a toxic and divisive work environment. The way feedback was delivered was frequently rude, dismissive, and condescending, with little effort made to provide constructive guidance or support for improvement. Instead, there was a pattern of ridiculing employees, even though similar mistakes were often repeated by management themselves. There also appears to be a pattern of bullying behavior, which is deeply concerning. Employees’ ideas were sometimes taken without recognition, with leadership presenting them as their own contributions. When concerns were raised, the responses tended to be passive-aggressive or perfunctory assurances of being “heard,” followed by worsened treatment. Another recurring issue was the double standard in accountability. Employees were reprimanded for even minor errors, while management was not held to the same expectations. This created frustration, mistrust, and a culture where individuals felt unsupported. I also noticed that any apparent “leniency” from management could later be used against employees, especially when discussing performance or exit situations. These dynamics led to a very unhealthy workplace culture that caused stress, anxiety, and discouragement for me and others. Importantly, I do not believe my experience was an isolated one—previous employee reviews highlight very similar concerns, suggesting these issues are systemic and ongoing. A company’s long-term success depends on the well-being, respect, and engagement of its people. I was disappointed by the lack of care shown by leadership, who seemed unaware—or unwilling to address—the negative environment being created. This approach is not sustainable. For these reasons, I unfortunately cannot recommend this company as a place of employment

Pros

You can learn a lot if you’re a fast learner as they’ll immediately throw you into the deep end with little training. Relative autonomy because management is too busy to look into daily goings on - at least until mistakes happen and the blame culture surfaces.

Cons

Nonexistent company culture, egotistical management that doesn’t listen to their employees, very very little room for advancement and pay raise. At its height, KRDS was a very good company but after losing their MD in 2019, and especially over the past year, they’ve lost a healthy amount of reliable employees both in their Singapore and India team. A lot of unrest amongst current employees as well, majority of whom are staying due to necessity and not loyalty. 80% of the Singapore team has left and current staff are mostly new people, which speaks volumes. There are also no benefits here and no insurance either. Even minor perks like pantry food were only introduced after staff requested it. Work life balance is “encouraged” but not respected. Don’t be surprised to see management sending you a message/email at 12am or on a weekend, and questioning why you’ve left early when you’re clocking out on time. Take note that most of the current reviews were made either during their glory days or left by current employees as instructed by management.

KRDS Response
5y
On behalf of the senior management at KRDS, first and foremost thank you for your feedback. We will definitely take your inputs into consideration. We would also like to take this opportunity to share our perspective on some of the points raised. Lack of Advancement and Pay Raise We have several talented members that have been promoted - typically after two years. These promotions are merit-based, and not an entitlement. However, we ensure an annual appraisal, inclusive of a raise, awarded even to employees that have not been promoted. High Turnover The team members that have recently left, or are serving notice, were all with us since 2018 and 2019. As is the norm in our industry, it is inevitable that our team would begin to move on within a few years of being with us. For context and transparency, the shortest tenure with the exiting employees is 1.5 years. Lack of Health Insurance & Benefits While we haven't offered group health insurance so far, we do offer medical reimbursements as part of our benefits, along with a monthly phone allowance. But point taken, we'll look into providing group health insurance. We'll also start offering a Work From Home allowance from now on. Introducing Benefits upon Team Suggestion We constantly look to improve the benefits we offer our team, which is why we take suggestions during our monthly open house. Perks such as pantry food were in fact introduced following a staff request soon after we were allowed to spend time again in the office. Admittedly, we’re confused about why this is a con; but, we’re sorry to hear it as the intent was to hear from the team about what they’d like. Lack of Culture Several team events we all looked forward to - such as our annual KRDS trip overseas and team outings - were unfortunately postponed indefinitely due to Covid19 restrictions. Company culture is ever-evolving, and this is an area we hope to do better at moving forward, naturally in adherence with government advisories. Questioning Why You’ve Left Early When You’re Clocking Out on Time The incident in question occurred after certain team members disappeared at 11am and returned only at 1:30pm in the middle of the work day, and still left at 6:30 on the dot despite having work pending. As a service-led organisation, we cannot take the risk of our clients suffering any potential delays in their deliverables due to the lack of maturity and unprofessional behaviour of certain staff members. We take the trust our clients place in us seriously, and we unfortunately must insist that our team members service our client’s needs with diligence and integrity. Regardless, we are sorry to hear that you are ending your journey with us on a negative note. We wish you the best for your future endeavours. Regards, KRDS Senior Management
