Pros

Free uniforms and PPE. Get to work with a variety of clients and understand complex needs. Clients are lovely to take care of.

Cons

The training is not adequate, most of the carers do not know what they are doing when they start working. Carers who shadow and are not recommended to work, they will still be given work without re-training. They force odd hours onto people and changed rota without notifying/consent - not so flexible as they suggest in recruitment. You get stuck in a routine and cannot achieve much because you are stuck visiting clients at odd times. They will not arrange hours easily even though you chase them. It is not beneficial for individuals who have a family to raise because of no guaranteed work. They do not pay for any travel costs , so having odd hours such as 1 visit in the morning and then 3 hours break with another 30 minutes for lunchtime does not compensate (waste of time). Contract says they must pay for petrol yet some of us did not get it at all. Even though malpractice about different carers was reported, nothing was done to solve it. Different situations which demonstrate those specific carers are not competent for their roles, yet they are kept in the company and when you request not to work with them, they will still add them in your rota. Extreme favouritism amongst staff from management liked - provided further opportunities for them to progress. Whereas, staff that seem to have the knowledge and relevant experience, do not progress or get a pay rise (have to beg for it). Lack of training for all staff to improve their skills and knowledge. Some of the management staff, appear to have no knowledge of what they are doing and lie, instead of apologising for their errors. They can be very manipulative or disrespectful to carers. They have no appreciation for hard workers. Each week, each payment they remove money from your pay and they are not able to justify why that money was removed and where did it go. In fact, when request to pay that money back, they will take weeks. No holiday pay unless you request to register to get it. You apparently must collect the money before every December. Otherwise, you will not see that money. No hope as a company.

Pros

Some good people, not much else.

Cons

Incompetent management, poor processes and technology, low employee satisfaction, high staff turnover, unethical behaviour - some horrible people to work with. Management secretly record employees in meeting rooms at Head Office.

lots of work and flexibility if possible to make time work with clients needs.

too much driving and no proper mileage or wear and tear payment
