Pros

The clients are great. That's all.

Cons

The company was recently bought out by a bullsh*t company (Beacon), and it's been downhill from there. This company's way of getting their staff to not quit is to stop giving them their !!!EARNED!!! PTO. I know employees here for 10+ years who have recently left the company, and their 300+ hours of earned PTO is just gone. Oh and on top of that, don't even think about requesting time for vacation because it has and will get denied. These employees, along with myself, work very long hours. NO BREAKS. There are constant call offs and who has to fill the shifts? You do. Unless your manager finds coverage, which they rarely do because there are no staff. A majority of the employees we have are wonderful, hard working, so good to the clients, and we are sh*t on by our company. And then there's the bad employees who are constantly calling off, coming in late, not doing things they're supposed to, and they are rewarded because the company doesn't want to lose anyone else. This new company is doing things to help the company, but not the employees... well, you won't have employees if you keep treating them like they are replaceable and just a body. THIS COMPANY SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO RETHINK THE WAY THEY PLAN ON KEEPING STAFF. STOP TREATING US LIKE SH*T. Thank you.

Pros

The relationships you build with consumers.

Cons

Do not be fooled by the stellar reviews posted at the behest of upper management. This is a horrible for-profit company to work for. Their system of group homes is designed to maximize revenue at the expense of the “consumers” and staff - they pack them in like rats, which creates a stressful environment, but the company prerogative is one of continual expansion. They do not care about people, only profits. The upper management that is making these decisions and arrangements are never held accountable for when things go wrong - it is the staff in the group home that gets blamed. This is a prescription for failure, plain and simple. Scapegoating, in a word. If you contact Human Resources by phone or email with any concerns you may have, you will be ignored. The priority at corporate HQ is to keeps things going whatever the cost, those actually doing the work in the homes are expendable and can easily be replaced - like hookers going through condoms. As a good-natured person you will be taken advantage of. KCR is in the business of providing for the upper crust at the expense of the many down below. Hypocrites. If you do your research, one will find that KCR is owned by a consortium of lawyers - bunch of shysters milking the government, that is all.
