Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. We appreciate your honesty and take what you have said seriously. We are always looking at ways to improve our working environment and have our employees feel valued and satisfied. We strive to have co-teachers in all kinder level classes. Given that we are a training centre, the working hours are industry standard and unfortunately cannot be changed. We aim to communicate the working hours and other conditions prior to signing of the employment contract. Lastly, we are constantly reviewing and updating our curriculum. Thanks again for taking the time to write this and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

A school to avoid

Pros

It's an easy job, a good starter job, solid initial training.

Cons

The biggest problem is that the local teachers and principles at the schools are racist. HQ refuses to accept this is a problem and subsequently won't do anything about it. The foreign recruiters hiring you might not be racist but the schools definitely are. Chinese staff do not communicate properly with you even though they're capable of doing so. The pay is low compared to other ESL companies. No medical insurance. Unpaid leave. No room for growth in the company. If you can kiss arse you'll get a bump up. There are more cons than pros at this company. There's far better out there.

Thanks for your feedback. Here at Kid Castle we’re always looking for ways to improve the experience of our teachers. Last year we began a new training program that not only allows our teachers to develop their teaching skills, but it also allows for our head office to have more interaction with our teaching staff. This has led to changes in our benefits package, which have been put into effect at the beginning of this year. There is plenty of room for growth within Kid Castle with positions such as Training Specialist, Assistant Foreign Teacher Supervisor and Foreign Teacher Supervisor on the academic side of the company as well as office positions in our corporate office. Check out http://www.kidcastlecareers.com/about-us/our- teachers/ to hear some personal stories from our teachers about their journeys and progression with Kid Castle. We are very proud of our diversity at Kid Castle. We take accusations of racism very seriously and if you have a information on this taking place within one of our schools we would greatly appreciate any information you have. Feel free to contact us. In regards to our Chinese Staff, we can’t speak highly enough of their hard work and temperament. Many of our teachers form great friendships with their Chinese colleagues. With a little patience and understanding there are great friendships to be made. Making friends with those from a different culture can be one of the most rewarding parts of your experience in China! Best wishes from the Kid Castle Team!
