Don't Work Here

Pros

This is a small company with limited resources, incompetent upper management, and petty office drama. The benefits are bad and you will never see a raise. They will probably lowball your salary to get you hired and never raise it. The project management is disorganized and you might never know if you're doing too much or too little based on the lack of real feedback. This company has no resources. It is tiny. If you needed emergency medical leave, sick leave, had to take extra days to go to a funeral, whatever, you would be scr*wed. They put A LOT of value on trying to seem as hip and cool as possible but they don't have the fundamentals as a business to back it up. Don't say nobody told you.

Cons

No organization, petty office disputes, no money

Pros

Good people. But sadly most have left.

Cons

A lot of cons. Way to many to go on with. Over all kidrobot can be a great company but not under Neca and the owner of it. The owner is slowly pulling this company down. The owner is very cheep and doesn't know anything about toys. Bad ideas come from him and they are laughable. The work life balance is awful and project are always a mess. No direction and no goals in mind as a company. Recently most of all staff was laid off trying to keep the company going. Before that people were leaving left and right because it was so bad. I used to know 25 plus people and now I know 3.

Pros

The current Art Director is fantastic. She knows what she’s doing, communicates clearly, and should honestly be running the team. Kidrobot gave me my first job in the industry, and I’ll always be grateful for that start.

Cons

I worked here for 6 years, and in that time, management never improved. Pay is far below industry standards. I started as a junior sculptor at $35k, and even as Head of Sculpt, I topped out at only $51k. Work-life balance does not exist. You’re expected to work nights and weekends, even while remote, with no appreciation. Leadership shows a lack of respect and communication.
