Since they were desperate for workers, i got hired on the spot, despite having not much on my resume.
You get 20% discount on produce. get to learn how to do quality control on vegetables.
Cons
It is minimum wage and they expect you to memorize codes off duty.
I noticed an imbalance in the structure of it as well. The men were expected to do back stock work and women had to be cashiers and promoters.
I got fired by the district manager because i decided to help people on till instead of smiling at people and giving out samples at the front of the store when it was busy.
They also throw away large amounts of food to the compost. Workers aren't allowed to take the half-decent food home.
I see the ad for a regional manager saying the candidate must work 5.5 days/week. This is an outdated policy that has no place in any progressive corporation nowadays.
Kins is insanely enjoyable to work at. The management, staff, and crew are great people that make it feel as if you're not really working- and I genuinely mean that. The work is easy, and so long as you take care for the basics, its easy sailings. You get to grow in terms of knowing how to manage inventory, customer service, knowing how to take care of fruits/vegetables, discovering the market sales world for produce, and many facts about fruits/vegetables. This is all very applicable to your own personal life.
Cons
You can only grow so much in this job, as expected in a retail produce job. Unless you aim to lead shifts as a shift leader, or get promoted to a supervisor/manager, you'll be more or less stuck with minimum wage.
Nice people working here
20% Discount
Flexible with your schedule
Cons
Be prepared to stand for a few hours
A ton of codes you needa remember, going to the store and memorizing with visuals is good
Gives you random shifts each week on what days you say you can work on
