Pros

For a small to mid-size arch'l firm, excellent benefits including profit-sharing, low cost health insurance, free snacks and drinks in the break room, cash-gift drawing on pay day, paid Revit training and LEED AP exam fees. They have a huge variety of no-glamour projects mostly from NIH and its related institutes so it's a great place to learn how to service and deal with the Fed bureaucracy and the nitty-gritty of various types of research facilities.

Cons

With one notable exception, most senior professionals do not stay on and those who do hang around for the time being are not happy as to how they are treated and managed. The office environment is also not one where there is an openness of dialogue on such issues or how best to serve the client and the project. There is a prevailing attitude among the partners, "That's good enough for the government and they wouldn't know the difference, just get the job out of the front door."

Lots of Turnover

Pros

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to work with a client like the NIH. The NIH is an awesome institution with worldwide influence in the medical community.

Cons

You will probably get fired sooner or later. I would not be surprised to find out over a hundred people have worked there. Its kind of amusing and sad to see all the continually changing people on the website.
