Pros

Colleagues are nice. Great work-life balance.

Cons

Management has serious issues they need to address, all of which have been voiced. There is a very strict hierarchal leadership structure and input from junior or mid-level employees is not welcomed. People seem so unhappy on a daily basis which has made it difficult to enjoy coming to work every day. There is little to no growth opportunity for junior and mid-level employees and many talented people have left as of recent. There is a pattern of people often being pigeonholed into doing a particular job; they become stuck in that role with no innovation or opportunity to learn and develop professionally.

Dear Optimist, I'm glad you are still here and that you've found a way to let us know how you feel. It's so sad to learn you are feeling this way and I hope you consider sharing your thoughts now, with one of us, so we can help. While not everyone shares your perspective, it's important and I know we can learn from what you have experienced. Please share more openly. You may be surprised by how much good you can do for the culture. We love our spot-finders, too!

Pros

Atmosphere, Brand Message, Bring your dog to work, Bar in Boston

Cons

Where do I begin. Very cliquey, no one listens to anyone, no communication, no organization. Almost all management do as they please, whenever they please.

Dear Optimist, Thank you for sharing your opinions here. I'm so sorry you left Life is Good without the chance to share your experience with us in person. I hope you participated in the surveys and Q&A sessions we offer regularly. Please consider providing some detail we can learn from and act upon in person, in writing, by phone - any way you choose. Though it didn't come through in your experience, we really do care about making positive change and spreading the power of optimism. Every single person matters. I wish you the best.

Pros

No pros at this time. Always thought you were on the up and up, but when I think about all the changes and the way employees no longer seem to matter since you took over in what 2004 or 2006?

Cons

Company would like you to think they are all rainbows, puppy dogs and sunshine. Great image and no substance. Any number of long term employees and management mebers are gone. Wheather its Boston or Hudson. People with great experience and years behind them. Just gone. What gives?

Dear Life is Good Optimist, It sounds like you've seen a lot of good and some bad during your long tenure here. I'd love to hear from you in person and, since you're still here, please give us the chance to learn about the way you see our recent changes. We may not be perfect but there are many of us who truly care and want to make the culture stronger. That starts to happen when people speak up. I promise to listen. You can find me in Hudson or Boston. Your Director of Optimistic People
