Pros
Pros: Rewarding to support residents and make a difference in their lives. Some colleagues are supportive and caring.
Cons
Working at Lifeways has been a very disappointing experience. From the beginning, there has been a lack of support, poor communication, and very little regard for staff wellbeing. Management often fail to listen to concerns, and when issues are raised, they are either ignored or not handled fairly. Training and staff development are not prioritised, leaving employees underprepared to manage complex situations. The company promotes itself as supportive and inclusive, but in reality, adjustments for staff with health conditions or personal needs are not consistently offered or respected. There is also a culture of poor leadership, favouritism, and inconsistent treatment of staff. Policies and procedures are not always followed correctly, which causes unnecessary stress and uncertainty. The residents and service users are the only rewarding part of the role, but even here, the lack of resources and support makes it difficult to provide the quality of care they deserve. Cons: Poor management with little support. Concerns are often ignored and training is minimal. Staff are treated inconsistently and wellbeing is not prioritised. Policies are applied unfairly and processes drag on. High turnover and staff shortages make care difficult.
