Pros

Lighthouse was a great company when it was smaller, before investor got involved. They really cared about their employees, though that is no longer the case. Compensation and Benefits are decent for the most part. Some of the employees are amazing and will go above and beyond for you. Great to gain experience.

Cons

-No advancement opportunities -Unless you're friends with upper management, you will not advance. -Expects you to go above and beyond but doesn't reward accordingly. -Does not care about their employees, let half the company go 10 days before Christmas. -Let's their managers get away with a lot, and never with any consequences. -CEO and COO have become extremely greedy. -Bribed employees with a free hat to give reviews on GlassDoor. -Lack of Diversity Worked for Lighthouse for over 4 years and I was let go with a 5 minutes Slack hangouts, 10 days before Christmas. You will not advance in this company unless you're friends with management, as they only like to promote those they like, so it's not based on hard work or who can do the job. Company is extremely disorganized, as there is a severe lack of communication between various departments, with other departments shoving work onto other departments when they do not to complete it. They also love to leave everything to the last moment before deciding it needs to be a priority. No diversity what-so-ever; could count on two hands the total number of employees that were non-white...out of 100+ employees. Did not inform employees of the financial health of the company until they let go of half the company, which creates extreme distrust. Upper Management does nothing to help their employees succeed, telling them if they can't handle the heat, perhaps they need to go some place else.

Pros

Employees in the DA/DR departments are fun to work with and work very hard.

Cons

-management will use and abuse any employee that has any drive towards their work. - If you are not "friends" with any member of upper management, good luck going anywhere in this company, many of the higher ups are college friends of the CEO and it shows. - Many departments in the company will gladly shove off work onto other departments when they can not do their own work right in the first place. For example Quality and the BD departments, we shouldn't have to constantly fix your SOPs and take on lab tech training and lab validation. - They ask us employees to do these reviews earlier this year for a free hat, so take that information with you as you read some of these.

Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Initially it will feel like you work for a great, people-focused company, one that has navigated the pandemic in a supportive manner. Communication, helping one another, and growth opportunity can all be found here. And when someone tells you these things, you want to believe them. You want to trust that they’ll follow through and that they have the ENTIRE organization’s best interests at heart. But their actions don’t match their words.

Cons

Lighthouse management lacks respect for their team and are unable to grow and change. They aren’t committed to doing the internal work required to change deeply ingrained behavior patterns, they won’t change—no matter how often they say they will. They even have a thirsty Thursday once a month for an hour. Which again sounds nice. But its just a band aid of an experience to gaslight their employees from realizing they are being made to work harder and not smarter. They also limit your PTO opportunities by only allowing a max of two people out on a single day.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Employee well-being is very important to me and I hate to hear that your time at Lighthouse was not positive. I am not familiar with the situation that is alluded to in your post, but I would love to discuss this confidentially if you are open to it, so that I could get a better understanding of the situation and determine what changes need to be made.
