Pros

Great brand names and depending on the team you are truly embedded in the organisation

Cons

Be prepared to have zero control over your career progression or even what your job title or scope is. Company's main objective is to keep the client, talents are completely disposable. Maker Lab will happily get rid of people or demote them without discussion with their own folks. As clients tighten their budgets, this happens more frequently. The good ones leave.

Reality Check: The Disconnect Between Image And Experience

Pros

You get the chance to work with Google which is cool. But NOT Netflix...if you've been keeping tabs on LinkedIn. Are Amazon, Shopify and Unicef even their clients?

Cons

Totally disappointing for a place that labels itself "talent-centric". Also, it is not a "micro agency". Seriously, the so-called "Core" team doesn't even touch the work we handle for our clients. They have no clue about the actual work we do. Maker Lab likes to say they're all about our career progression, but it’s the clients who review our performance and sometimes decide on our pay raises.

Pros

Good annual leave package (21 days) Fully remote

Cons

They treat talents as disposable slaves. They consider clients their king and fail to do proper investigation into client issues, being quick to blame and fire talents. Many talents have been terminated prematurely (less than 6 months into the role) over small issues that could have been remedied with a proper feedback session. The HR team is especially incompetent and unethical. They are a useless appendage that sole purpose is to provide payroll and mould talents into docile, submissive sheep.
