Pros

You may be able to some extent set up your "schedule". not too bad as an extra income source

Cons

If you are new you will be giving the worst days (holidays, weekends etc.)pay is inferior for the amount of work and responsibilities. The owner will give you less shifts to work if you do not comply with his rules. He second-guesses your work often. They push you to upcode for billing purposes. You should order ultrasounds not within the scope of urgent care. You must prescribe what MD now pharmacy sells. You must "clear" patients for surgery and deal with the absurdities of Workers Compensation. The working environment is tense, unfriendly.

Pros

4 days off a week. Paid health care

Cons

Basically a trained Monkey can do the job of a "Manager" it's practically a joke. People go to College and Grad school for a Degree in Health Administration to be qualified to run a medical establishment. Not at MD Now, work there learn the basics and you'll get promoted, the pay isn't even worth it Front desk gets started at $11.00 Assistant manager $13.00 and Office Manager $15.00. You basically get a title to make these unaccomplished individuals feel like they've achieved a purpose in life. Before any decision is made they have to call Corporate to get approval and add it in the notes "PER JUDY" "PER SOMEBODY" you make no real decisions and have no real authority you're basically a puppet and corporate has the strings to control you. Their turn over is so high because they don't pay employees what they deserve.

Pros

Free lunch on Monday Free waters Staff is mainly friendly

Cons

During the interview process they promise to put you at a location close to your home, you will get at least 36 hours per week, and there is room for growth within the company. These are all lies. I was constantly traveling to other locations and I was sent home early a lot making it hard to get my 36 hours. I would come in early almost everyday just so I could get an extra 15 mins towards my hours for the week. The management at certain locations can be EXTREMELY rude. My manager was always breathing down our neck and sending out 10 different e-mails a day. Company policies are CONSTANTLY changing and it is your fault if a policy is changed without you knowing and you make a mistake. The receptionists are all forced to "chart check" and look for mistakes by other co-workers, then have to print out the mistake and put it in a folder where the managers would look at it and write down all your mistakes. Most of the girls at our location wouldn't do that and would just tell each other what the mistake it was they made instead of getting the girl in trouble. Since the pay was so poor, I had to have a second job. MD Now does NOT work around another job schedule or if you are in school. The manager would randomly change my schedule without me knowing and which made it difficult for my other job to schedule me. Since they were opening up new locations there was room for promotions to assistant managers for the new locations, but my manager at our location NEVER recommended anyone. Girls at other locations were getting promoted while the rest of us were stuck with our horrible hourly pay at the same location with the worst manager in the whole company. This is the worst company I have every worked for. I only took the job just to get experience in a different work environment. I tried to stay a whole year and couldn't bear it. I was always afraid of getting fired for something stupid. People got fired left and right from other employees throwing them under the bus and I wanted no part in that. I do not regret leaving this job at all, I was better off without it.
