About Mr President

Pros

Really friendly and competent folks all around.

Cons

A recent review about the President of Medical Marketing piqued my memories about what it was like having to work in constant dread of not knowing when the next landmine will set the trigger off for this highly unstable senior management member. The most seemingly run-of-the-mill work matters can set off a series of angry emails that scream power harassment. Nobody knows what the President does; and nobody knows why the company continues to keep and feed his paycheck. Keeping someone who is more concerned about office politics than furthering the business agenda at that high on the chain of command is one of the greatest mysteries of MIMS.

Incompetent top management and toxic corporate culture

Pros

Many dedicated and talented people who are keeping this company alive and functioning.

Cons

The President of Medical Marketing Strategic Unit’s inability to lead and lack of professionalism is disruptive to the business and destructive to employee morale. It is astonishing how someone with such low capabilities and skills can hold this high position at any sizable company. In most well-ran organizations, such behaviour would be deemed intolerable and a major liability. Sadly, this is not the case here. Perhaps senior leadership should pay attention and consider conducting reviews to find out what has truly been going on. • First of all, the President spends most of his working hours watching YouTube/Netflix/Sports and tending to his personal activities • As the highest ranking officer of the division, he provides no useful advice, guidance, or support to his teams. Every decision he makes is based on his biased perceptions and not fact- or evidence-based. This could be due to the fact that he is clueless of what day-to-day operations look like and lack of industry knowledge. • His ignorance and inability to learn how the business functions often lead to unnecessary spending, expenditures and adding workload to his team members to clean up his messes. • Under this President’s leadership, finger pointing, blaming, gossiping, and looking down on people are key corporate culture he brings to the company – creating a very toxic environment. He is best at finding faults, passing blames, and getting others to do his work. Perhaps this is his way to deflect and cover up his inability to perform his own tasks. • Despite displaying and packaging himself as a knowledgeable person, he is clueless of what day-to-day operations look like, since he’s busy streaming shows and blaming others for his misdeeds.

Pros

There is none to mention

Cons

If you don't bring in clients or revenue, you're out and not valuable to the company. Don't think that the hard work you put in, relevant past experience or professionalism you are as an individual would contribute to the company or culture. It does not work this way because all these will be hidden by your colleagues and/or bosses who are adept at playing politics. This may be common everywhere but as you would see from most other reviews, the culture is toxic here. Don't be surprised if your team or colleagues backstab you for projects and clients. your colleagues may not be helpful. Instead, many use your back to propel themselves forward, and worse are proud of such antics with the management's support. No accountability amongst people - people are scared to take up responsibilities or be accounted for their instructions, especially verbal ones. And some are unapologetic if they missed an important deadline and landed a team member in trouble.
