What a joke.

Pros

Independence working in the field allows flexibility. You get a diverse population (diagnosis, family. Need for assistance) never boring.

Cons

They promote based on personality... If you're there puppet they will promote you. If you have a mind of your own and are professional they will KEEP YOU DOWN! Run! The social work department is the WORST.

Meet interesting patients in their homes

Absolutely the worst company I have ever worked for! They force you to take on a workload as if you're a robot. They promise you a 35 hour work week on the job offer but it ends up being about 60 hours a week. You are expected to work at home and not get paid if you fall behind on paperwork from a chaotic, overworked week. The management speaks in programmed response to multiple situations regarding productivity. If u want to be worked like a mule, strap on one of their heavy backpacks and become an unappreciated robot. Very little job satisfaction and very little praise for your hard work from upper management. Worst job, worst management ever in my professional career. I would not recommend this job to anyone!

Fine in the beginning, until the merger of 2011

Pros

Lots of money incentives if you want overtime Will pay for and encourage growth in terms of seminars and certifications

Cons

Managers seemed to be focused on productivity and nothing else, don't provide much help if you need it. The focus on the company nowadays seems to be to compete to be the biggest, with the most initiatives and new programs, but I felt this came at the price of good patient care. Mandatory overtime is required
