Pros

Opportunities to be creative and explore lots of facets of your role.

Cons

Toxic bosses who don’t like showing up at the office, revolving door of sales reps who become punching bags for owners, embarrassment of working for a contractor with a shaky industry reputation, low pay with no room for growth, wearing 1 million hats is encouraged, little personal accountability by management. I have heard them cite people’s size and age for reasons to not hire people, but there’s no HR department for them to be accountable to so no repercussions.

Pros

I have had the pleasure of working with Mad Systems for over two decades and I can confidently say that this company is exceptional. The owners are great, and their leadership has fostered an environment where exciting and diverse projects are the norm. No two projects are the same, which keeps the work engaging and dynamic. The team at Mad Systems is outstanding. Every individual is professional, dedicated, and knows exactly what they need to do. This level of expertise and teamwork is what makes our projects successful and ensures a high standard of quality. Unfortunately, we did have one negative experience with an individual who did not want to work and caused some negativity among a few other employees. This person was found to be doing their crafts during work hours instead of contributing to our projects, and refused to log their time accurately in our time application. Management, understanding the impact on team morale and productivity, made the decision to let this person go. It is disheartening that this individual has since posted an unfair review on Glassdoor. The review was hurtful and untrue, painting a false picture of Mad Systems. I feel bad for the company because they did not deserve such negative feedback. The reality is that Mad Systems is a top-notch company that values its employees and strives for excellence in all its endeavors. They have an open door policy and will listen to anything you have to say. I have always loved that about them. I hope that prospective employees will see past the unfair review and understand that Mad Systems is a fantastic place to work, with a supportive team and exciting opportunities for professional growth.

Cons

Parking can be tough sometimes, but we work together to solve it, and this is actually a common problem in a lot of places now.

Pros

They fully pay for your health insurance Some of your coworkers are cool

Cons

Literally everything else. The owners are controlling egomaniacs who are more focused on creating patents for products that will never be used and working on their personal pet projects instead of bringing in actual work for the company. They refuse to give up any control and leave no room for anyone else’s input or ideas. They do not know how to run a company, everyone is miserable and walks on eggshells all of the time. Employees time themselves in the kitchen so that they don't get in trouble for spending too much time eating. Their treatment of staff and subsequent punishment when those issues are brought up is unacceptable. Retaliation and gaslighting is something that happens often. There are no raises and unless you are salaried, your pay will not be on par with inflation. They do not care about their hourly employees and see them as less than. The lack of professionalism on the CEO’s part is appalling. Employees are not your therapists, your friends or your equals. You are their boss and should conduct yourself as such. Owners set the example for the company and the oversharing and emotional trauma dumping on employees is not what should be happening. There's a reason everyone is quitting and management should look in the mirror to see why.
