Pros

From my point of view, the best thing at MadBox is the fact the founders are hard-trying (with success) to maintain a people-focused culture, while the company is growing very fast, with great ambitions. The team is full of talented, passionated and open-minded people. Atmosphere is great, as communication and transparency follow between founders and employees : we know what's going on, why, and for what goal. It's crazy to see how fast the company is evolving, but in a controlled way. Can't wait to discover where we'll be in in the future :-) That said : - MadDrinks every thursdays - MadLunch every fridays - Profit-sharing and incentive programs - Crazy off-site events - More to come!

Cons

The current Paris office starts to get a bit small due to MadBox growth. Should be fixed very soon tho :)

Pros

- Most of the team is both skillful, friendly and supportive. It's always a pleasure to work with them. - Very flexible regarding the Covid situation.

Cons

- Harassment issues from a part of the management (lies, threats, constant pressure). Multiple cases of humiliation. - Unpaid overtime is necessary to "gain trust" of the management and get a better salary and work on better projects. - Quite low pay. The simple idea of a raise has been met with laughter by my manager.

First of all, thanks a lot for taking the time to share your feedback and perception about Madbox although we are extremely surprised by such negative comments about our company. Harassment is taken extremely seriously at Madbox. Since 2018, all managers have been trained on their management skills on a quarterly basis, we created a CSE just 2 months after our company creation back in 2018, and we drive engagement surveys on a monthly basis to ensure the company follows its core values of trust, ownership, and accountability. With an average 4% turnover (i.e : 3 departures in one year in a team of 60 people), we consider people enjoy being at the heart Madbox, or at least we try hard to do so. Regarding unpaid overtime, Madbox offers organization flexibility to every single Madboxers, in every team. Video game development is often arhythmic, this is why we let Madboxers organize their days the way they want according to their teams and projects to keep their work-life balance. Regarding the pay, 65% of our Madboxers received a salary increase in the last 12 months due to their performances, and more than 90% received a raise in the last 18 months. We have a pretty ambitious policy in terms of salary increases where we review all employees eligible to an increase every 3 months, the only criteria being : 6 months minimum since last increase and hit the performance expected for their role and level. We feel sorry you did not embark on the Madbox journey. Please reach out to our HR team or Madbox CSE lead if you want to share more details about your situation so that we can take action on the severe allegations you are pointing here.

Pros

I'm a firm believer that the interview process is a two way street and that the way it's handled can tell you all that you need to know about a company. Those I spoke with were very transparent and did not hide when asked tough questions about the company's work life balance, culture or business goals. I felt that their answers were realistic and honest, something that you don't normally get, even after multiple rounds. The entire interview process took about 3 months (during multiple holiday periods) and while a little longer than most, there was plenty of open communication and I was provided multiple updates throughout this time. All of my follow up questions were not only welcomed, they were actually addressed.

Cons

If working for a company that has a high expectation of you to be be both caring and professional is a deal breaker, you're missing out!
