Great coworkers if you can find any who are willing to stay for the awful pay.
Cons
Minimal management training. No ways to really move up in the industry. And making only $20 per hour to run an entire department isnt worth it given the odd hours I am required to work. They recently change raised to be merrit based not tenure so good luck getting anything more and the 'raises' they do give feel like a slap in the face.
Great place to gain experience in the industry. Get to do a little bit of everything. Area is close to the beach and in a driveable distance to major cities such as Baltimore, DC & Philly.
Cons
Training is at a minimum. Pay is beyond lower than the national average. Creativity is welcomed but then immediately shut down. Bad behavior is rewarded, good employees are ran into the ground.
Pay is egregiously low and not competitive with competing properties. No effort is made to retain experienced employees, especially in the newsrooms. Questionable and ethically dubious employment practices, often left to incompetent local management to implement. Heavy handed contract terms. Rampant unprofessionalism. Little dedication to local journalism.
