Pros

The have great health insurance, however the benefits decreased slightly from last year.

Cons

401K is subpar only matching 20%, pay is not very good for the area compared to other companies out there. Unless you are related or sleeping with a relative there is not much room for advancement. Also, they find it acceptable for a manager to be leaving during the day with one of the cashiers for extended periods of time. I guess to have the ability to leave when you want you need to be sleeping with the manager like she is.

Pros

Other employees were friendly and the ones in the same level of the hierarchy were really friendly. You don't get to see your own friends and family anymore so these people are your new friends and family. There was only one manager in my department who was of any worth, yet she did not get nearly enough recognition that she deserved.

Cons

Oh boy, where to start. Aggressive workplace. Insane drama. Management issues. Managers that hold positions for too long, which end up hindering progress. Nepotism. I personally faced harassment from other employees and customers and was told to shut my mouth about it. Other people in the office noticed the unfair treatment and tried to call it out in the monthly meetings, but the management only pushed back like they do all the other issues. Borderline illegal activity and actual illegal activity. Being told to turn my back when the illegal stuff happened. Our location is known for working harder than all the other locations, so much that my department was the only one that was not allowed less than 40 hours a week, even though I was under the impression that I would be working part-time before I started. You are legally allowed a certain number of paid and unpaid breaks a day, yet taking those put your numbers behind and meant getting written up. You get written up almost weekly because the management has a minimum amount of write-ups that they're supposed to write a week.

Unequal Treatment

Pros

At Christmas they give a gift card and a ham as a bonus

Cons

Unequal treatment, depending on how they feel about an employee. You can ask the same question to 2 different managers and get 2 answers. They permit harassment and hostile work environment and if you notify HR, then you are the target. High stress, as sales are, but with an uneven playing field and favorites and inconsistencies it just makes it intolerable.
