Pros

Matrix is a great place to work - great people, fun activities (half day for a private movie theater showing, raffles, contests, free lunches, etc), great benefits (gym reimbursement and a 4% 401k match) , awesome job security, fantastic growth potential (I started as an examiner less than 10 years ago), great work-life balance (I have never worked nights, weekends, or holidays in any of my many roles here), and management teams that genuinely care about their employees and do their best to empower the front-line employees to decide what our processes look like.

Cons

None as far as I'm concerned - we do our best to gather feedback from our employees and apply it to make our offices better work environments with each passing day. No job is ever perfect, but we can always be better at everything we do & having an employer that is always considering ways to improve the experience of their employees is an awesome thing. Remember that even the companies that are ranked annually in the "top 10 places to work" still have negative reviews from disgruntled former employees on this and other review sites - take them with a grain of salt! There's a reason the average examiner tenure in NY is over 7 years.

Pros

ZERO! Nothing good to say about this company. Their training is extremely lacking in all areas. Even the trainers don't know what their doing. The two supervisors I had were completely unqualified to do their jobs. Spent their time on personal phone calls and shifting different client files to overworked employees. VERY HIGH TUNROVER. If your really good friends with the Supervisor you won't have any issues.

Cons

No one takes anytime off and they end up coming in on the weekends to stay current. A lot of the employees are out on FMLA due to the high stress and completely demanding job requirements. The Supervisors make fun of the clients and when faced with a difficult client will look them up on face book to find out where they live and any other personal information on them. Very Unprofessional. I would not recommend this horrible company to anyone! I was asked to come in on a weekend to assist in converting files from paper to electronic files and was supposed to get comp time which never happened since the Supervisor was too busy planning her wedding.

Used to Love My Job

Pros

The pay is really good for someone like me who didn't go to college. Great PTO program. Insurance is decent. Lots of employee appreciation days/events. I love my co-workers.

Cons

It's getting to the point where I feel like I am being constantly monitored. They're doing audits on our badge swipes. Cameras everywhere. Management monitors your time away from desk, time on the phone. Communication is crap. I am told different things by different people on a daily basis. Supervisor will tell me one thing, Manager tells me another, Director tells me another. I am told to my face by my Supervisor that as long as I am getting my work done and I am still helping my co-workers, I can leave early and take long lunches because I have a family I'd like to spend time with. Then I am called out in a meeting and multiple emails for my schedule. NO consistency! If you're not going to pay me overtime, as I'm salaried, and tell me that this isn't an "8 hour job" then I shouldn't be punished for wanting to leave when the work is done. But hey, if you want to pay me to sit at my desk and watch Netflix on my phone because I have nothing to do then OK! I am so sick of doing my work efficiently and accurately and, frankly, really well and then being constantly forced to "help" other people who overwork their claims, set unnecessary tasks, chit chat with their neighbors, play on their phones, and can't seem to keep their small workload in a good place. Especially when it's the same people every. single. day. Coach people individually. Don't send out mass emails when you're really only talking to one person. Stop being afraid to MANAGE and SUPERVISE people. Discipline people for their constant unplanned absences. Re-train people who have been doing their job wrong for YEARS.
