A safe space for introverts

Pros

Free snacks at companywide meetings & in-house holiday celebrations & raffles. If you’re a scientist it’s the perfect place for you, assuming you’re introverted and awkward around people who always look miserable.

Cons

Managers could careless about helping you. You’re more like a burden rather an employee. Lots of office gossip all the time. A lot of people don’t get along and make situations very uncomfortable.

Good place to start, not a great place to stay or end up

Flexible work hours and a good company to get your foot in the door of the science/biotech field, great benefits

Cons

The pay does not adequately compensate for the amount of work that you are given, an unhealthy amount of gossiping occurs between employees/supervisors, many of the higher-ups tend to go over your head if you say the wrong thing even if it’s work related, there is an extreme double-standard of accountability between less experienced employees and senior staff members, the difficult personalities are never held accountable when they overstep boundaries or cross lines, management refuses to show any empathy for employees, and there is very little room for career growth while working here
